Elite Club Inc. prepares for Inaugural Scholarship Gala
Special to The Herald
The Elite Club Incorporated is pleased to announce plans for their Inaugural Scholarship Gala.
The Elite Club represents a group of women who are committed to serving their community while making a difference in the lives of the elderly and youth throughout Yazoo County. The group has been in existence since 1983 and has awarded scholarships to deserving students since its inception.
Realizing the increased and continued need for academic assistance for students who plan to attend college and more enrichment opportunities that focus on the importance of character and developing positive social and cultural development, the group has decided to sponsor the Scholarship Gala that will include a Debutante Ball.
Club members are very excited about this event and seek the support of the students, parents, schools, churches and all segments of the community. Tentatively, the event is scheduled for early February.
While the Debutante Ball will present young ladies to the community, young men will also be a part of the event as well. Participants will be required to attend seminars and workshops that will offer cultural and social enrichment. The group is confident that this event will provide experiences and memories for the youth that will offer guidance and motivation as they evolve into young adults.
The Debutante Ball will be open to young ladies that display behavior and values that endorse positive morals and exemplary character. The targeted group will include young ladies that are juniors or seniors in high school.
Interested individuals should contact any member of the Elite Club for more information or call 662-763-7855.
