Five years of fighting breast cancer in Yazoo

Early detection can be the difference between life and death when it comes to breast cancer.
Over the last five years the Pink Symposium has armed many Yazoo women with that information while helping make sure they receive those potentially life-saving services.
Sponsored by the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, the Pink Symposium keeps growing every year. Over 100 participants are expected to attend this year’s event on Oct. 20 at 6:15 p.m. at Yazoo City High School’s cafeteria.
For sorority member Ruby Wallace, who serves as the event’s project manager, the fight against breast cancer is personal. She is a survivor.
Wallace was diagnosed with breast cancer 17 years ago.-------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
