Campbell shines in Dixie Youth, latest family prodigy

When the Campbell’s sit down for breakfast every morning, it’s not the usual family chatter. Instead it’s baseball.
Their love for the game doesn’t just end in a bowl full of Cheerios, over the years it’s become a family legacy.
Gabriel Campbell has baseball in his blood. Since he was three years old he’s been developing his skills as one of the top young talents in the area.
At 6-foot-2, the 12-year old Campbell is hard to miss among his Major League teammates, some, he says with a smile are intimidated by him. Most would be if they ever watched him throw a baseball.
“I can throw about 80,” he says. “That’s just a guess.”
That’s fast considering he’s about 46 feet away from home plate.
