County cuts taxes by two mills

By JASON PATTERSON
Editor & Publisher

Yazoo County residents will be getting a tax cut in the upcoming budget year.
The Yazoo County Board of Supervisors reduced the millage rate by two points for the upcoming fiscal year.
Board President Cobie Collins said better fuel prices and good management by all county departments created significant savings.
“Instead of just using the money to build our budget, we thought it would be better to give it back to the taxpayers,” Collins said. “Our department heads used good management across the board, and we haven’t had to replace some of our older equipment.” -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
