BETTYE JOHNSON

Kathryn “Bettye” Vaughan Johnson, 65, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011 at home.
Funeral services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Lincoln Dall officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born May 3, 1946 in Yazoo County to Charles and Ruby Hammack Vaughan. She was a retired paralegal and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Liz Johnson of Houston, Texas; son, Jeff Johnson (Debbie) of Dallas, Texas; mother, Ruby Vaughan; two sisters, Guyla Dixon of Benton and Cora Nichols of Benton; and former husband, Clark Johnson of Madisonville, La.
Serving as pallbearers are Andy Dixon, Hays Vaughan, Posey Waldrup, Charlie Dixon, Thomas Johnson and Ellis Warren.

FRANCES POORE

Frances Elizabeth Poore, 83, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2011 at home.
Funeral services were Wednesday at Center Ridge Cemetery with Rev. Richard Jennings officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Poore was born March 9, 1928 in Yazoo County to Jeptha and Lilie Porter Roberts. She was a homemaker and a member of Southside Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon L. Poore.
Survivors include her sons, Billy L. Poore of Yazoo City and Robert F. Poore of Flora; brother, Sammy Roberts of Syracuse, N.Y.; sister, Bobbie Jean Shey of Pensacola, Fla.; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

MARY WEISENBERGER

Mary S. Weisenberger, 86, of Conway, S.C. and formerly of Yazoo City, died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 at Agape Hospice  in Conway, S.C.
Funeral services are today at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Lincoln Dall officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mrs. Weisenberger was born Nov. 4, 1924 in Yazoo City to Hugh and Martha Lucille Whelan Sutherland. She was a retired food service manager for Martha Coker Convalescent Home and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Weisenberger.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha W. Batch (Randy) of Pawley, S.C.; two granddaughters, Amanda Keithly (Randy) of Pawley, S.C. and Kelly Coxe (Chris) of Mathews, N.C.; and three great-grandchildren, Campbell Cox, Samantha Cox and Bronson Keithly.
