Let’s play the “what if” game

By TAYLOR MITCHELL
Sports Editor

All my life my favorite sport has been football. I watched it on television when I was kid, played it in junior high and high school and began covering the games in college. In fact, there was football on the TV in the delivery room when I was born (Miami-Notre Dame, 1988). Needless to say, I’ve learned a thing or two about the game.
One of those things is that turnovers can either win you the game or they can lose you the game. For Manchester Academy Friday night, turnovers lost the game. What makes this all the more interesting is the Mavericks forced Tri-County into three fumbles and one interception in the first half, including the first play of the game.
The Rebels were asking Manchester to win the game and in all fairness, the Mavericks should have won that game. Alas, we’re sitting here discussing their 27-0 loss. -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
