Schools submit tax levy of 5.93 mills to city board

Things got heated among city leaders and school officials this week after a lengthy discussion about the possibility of a tax increase.
The Yazoo City Municipal School district submitted a tax levy proposal in the amount of 5.93 mills to the Board of Mayor and Alderman. The city board invited school officials to a work session Friday afternoon to discuss the matter.
