The young boy watched as his younger sisters tried on an assortment of shoes, wondering when it would be his turn.
Overcome with excitement, his eyes began to fill with tears when he was told he may not get a pair today.
Money was tight, and his shoes could last a little while longer.
He left the store that day, crying with his tattered pair of shoes still on his feet.
The place was Black and White Department Store. And the small, crushed boy was Jimmy Chisolm.
“I left the store with tears in my eyes,” he said. “But God had a plan for me. He would have it fixed one day where I wouldn’t want for shoes.” -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
