Investigators are trying to determine what led to an accident in which a Yazoo County woman lost her life Saturday.
Cynthia Deal, 41, of Benton was killed after losing control of her 1998 Ford Mustang on Niven Road near Benton around noon. The car landed nearly 30 feet from the road after striking several trees in the air.
Another Ford Mustang driven by Kimberly Ratcliff was also involved in the accident. Ratcliff’s vehicle left the road and suffered heavy damage before winding up about 20 yards from Deal’s car.
Ratcliff was treated for non-life threatening injuries at King’s Daughters Hospital and released.
Deal died at the scene. Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said Deal was not wearing a seatbelt and was thrown from the vehicle.
