Benton native Mike Kinnison joined the state’s sports legends as he was inducted into the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame Friday.
It was the latest honor for the coach whose Delta State University team captured the Division II National title in 2004.
Kinnison was one of six sports legends in attendance at the downtown Marriot in Jackson for the induction ceremony. The other five were former University of Southern Mississippi baseball coach Corky Palmer, former Mississippi State University and Major League pitcher Jeff Brantley, former Mississippi College women’s basketball star Rita Easterling and former professional baseball owner and administrator Con Maloney. -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
