Teen stays strong in fight with cancer

By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

Mary Margaret Johnson is a healthy girl who hit a bump in the road.
The bump was cancer, and the road is a long one. But through love and faith, the 17-year-old is continuing on her journey toward recovery.
“We’re going to be fine,” she said, with a smile.
Mary Margaret was diagnosed with cancer last month, but she is remaining optimistic through her treatments. Her hope is contagious, and it doesn’t take long to see the fight she has in her young body.
Mary Margaret’s smile fills a room. And with her mother Kelli beside her, she openly talks about her diagnosis with a clear head. She is not sad or pessimistic. -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
