Dr. William Thompson experienced the medical world at an early age, and he decided to never leave it.
With serious illnesses throughout his early childhood, Thompson was exposed to doctors early on.
“As a kid, I knew I wanted to be a doctor when I grew up,” Thompson said. “Most kids say they want to be a fireman or something. But I wanted to be a doctor.”
Although he was born in Monroe, La., Thompson considers Yazoo his hometown. He arrived here when he was only a month old.
“My dad was an Army pilot,” he said. “I was a month old when he was discharged. We came to Bentonia, where I grew up on a farm.” -------for the rest of the story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition.----------
