Brianna Smith-McField has been selected to participate in the 2011 session (June 5 - June 24) of the Mississippi’s Governor’s School.
The Governor’s School is a residential honors program established in 1981 by Governor William F. Winter at Mississippi University for Women.  The Governor’s School is designed to provide academic, creative, and leadership experiences for a limited number of rising high school juniors and seniors who have demonstrated exceptional ability and achievement in their studies and who show high intellectual, creative, and leadership potential.  
Brianna is the daughter of Phoebe C. “Woolfolk” Smith and the granddaughter of Queenester Woolfolk of Yazoo City.  She is a rising eleventh grade student at Yazoo County High School where she was recently selected as co-captain of the Yazoo County Cheerleader Squad while maintaining a scholastic average of 99/A.  Some of her awards include having the highest average in English I, Algebra I, Algebra II, Biology I, Chemistry, US History, Keyboarding and Family Development.  
Brianna was a Student Ambassador Leader at the Dwight D. Eisenhower People to People World Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C. during Fall 2007, a member of the 2009 Class of the Trent Lott Leadership Institute for Rising Ninth Graders and is currently a member of “Pretty in Pink” Girls Leadership Club.
Brianna’s future plans include seeking every opportunity to make Yazoo proud!
