Robert Lee Lowery, 25, died Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from injuries sustained in a trucking accident in Holmes County.
Funeral services were Saturday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ray Woods officiating. Burial followed at Central Holmes Cemetery.
Mr. Lowery was born March 23, 1986 in Yazoo City to Walter Lee Lowery and Ellen Page Lowery. He was a truck driver and a member of Oil City Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Emily White Lowery of Yazoo City; father, Walter Lee Lowery of Yazoo City; mother, Ellen Page Lowery of Yazoo City; and a niece, Ashleigh Hester of Raymond.
Serving as pallbearers were Keith Mathis, Joe Shivers, Durand Burdine, Clayton Gordon, Tommy Shivers, Carley Lowery Jr., Jason Earl Mathis and Lee Bradshaw.
Faye L. “Miss Sally” Williams, 72, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Sunday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel.
Mrs. Williams was born May 14, 1939 in Yazoo County to Frank and Mary Cummings Worthy. She was a cafeteria worker for the Yazoo County School District and a member of Oil City Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby J. Williams Sr.; a son, Bobby J. Williams Jr.; two brothers, Otto Worthy and Buddy Worthy; and longtime companion, Nobert Ables.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Burdine of Yazoo City; two sisters, Frances Dozier and Carrie Creel, both of Bentonia; a brother, Tom Worthy of McGee; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers were David Williams, Corey Worthy, Billy Worthy, Lee Dozier, Caleb Creel, Greg Williams and Keith Dozier.
LILLIE MAE EUBANKS
Lillie Mae White Eubanks, 77, died May 26, 2011.
Funeral services were June 3 at the L.T. Miller Community Center with Rev. Clifton Wright officiating. Burial followed at Cypress Garden Cemetery under the direction of Shaffer & Collins Funeral Home.
Mrs. Eubanks was born March 8, 1934 in Inverness to the late Cornelius and Theo White. She spent most of her life as a cook and a sharecropper, and was a homemaker until her health failed. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter Eubanks Jr.; two children, Robert Eubanks and Roberta Eubanks; a brother, Porch Howard; and a sister, Willie Mae White.
Survivors include nine children, Helen Tolliver of Memphis, Tenn., Sophronia Taylor of Brandon, Carter Eubanks (Mary Jo) of Louisville, KY., Doris Chilston (Eddie) of Cleveland, OH, Barbara Jefferson of St. Louis, MO, Dwight Eubanks, James Earl (Lillie Mae) Eubanks, Diane Eubanks of Yazoo City, MS, Patricia (J.C.) Jackson of St. Louis, MO; two daughter-in-laws, Willette Eubanks of Grand Rapids, MI and Phyllis Eubanks of Kentwood, MI, one sister, Jessie M. Paul of St. Louis, MO; three sister-in-laws, Fannie Eubanks, Willie Sneed and Pearl Davis of Yazoo City, MS; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Serving as pallbearers were Dwight Eubanks, Kenyardrick Eubanks, James Earl Eubanks, Rodricques Jones, Jeremy Eubanks and J. C. Jackson.
Honorary pallbearers were Juan Eubanks, Robert Eubanks Jr., Glen Owens, Isaiah Eubanks, Cleotha Bell, Arion Bell and Carter Eubanks, IV.
