John Aaron Howell selected to attend Miss. Governor’s School
John Aaron Howell has been selected to participate in the 2011 session (June 5-June 24) of the Mississippi’s Governor’s School.
The Governor’s School is a residential honors program established in 1981 by Governor William F. Winter at Mississippi University for Women.
The Governor’s School is designed to provide academic, creative, and leadership experiences for a limited number of rising high school juniors and seniors who have demonstrated exceptional ability and achievement in their studies and who show high intellectual, creative, and leadership potential.
John Aaron Howell is the son of Ray and Stacy Howell of Bentonia. He recently completed the 10th grade at Yazoo County High School, where he received awards for A honor roll, perfect attendance, citizenship, and highest average in accelerated English II, geometry, intro to world geography and Spanish I.
Howell is a member of Parkview Church of God where he is active in the youth group, praise band and church choir.
He later plans to pursue a career in cardiology.
