Life is beginning to return to normal for many Yazooans as the water level continues to fall.
U.S. Highway 49 reopened this week along with many county roads that had been closed due to flooding. The many employees of Simmons Catfish were also elated to hear that they will be able to return to work on Monday.
Simmons Catfish owner Harry Simmons had levees built around the plant and 25 catfish ponds. Other ponds were seined and those fish were transferred to the protected ponds.
