Election predictions already?

Walter PattersonWalter PattersonHave the political pundits lost their collective minds?
The answer, of course, is yes! We are a year and a half away from a presidential election, and if all you read were the editorial pages of most newspapers, you would think that the election will be held next Tuesday.
Yes, the liberals, socialists, ACORN employees, unions, and other far-left organizations are coalescing behind President Obama. That is to be expected. What is not to be expected is the “spin” that has already begun touting Obama as one of the smartest, most gutsy, most thoughtful presidents since the founding of this country. This activity alone reveals that Obama recognizes that he is in deep political trouble.
First, the Associated Press released a poll that found miraculously that Obama’s approval rating had leaped from the mid-forties a week ago to 60 percent today. This is a classic example of a corrupt press. This organization, in order to get the poll to say what it wanted it to say, contacted and interviewed 17 percent more Democrats than Republicans.
Guess what? The poll said what they wanted it to say.
Rasmussen’s poll, on the other hand, showed the President with a 47 percent approval rating and a 52 percent disapproval rating. This after Obama single-handedly took down Osama Bin Laden. This reminds me of the time Obama claimed that if he were elected president, the water levels in the oceans would fall.
However, there is still humor to be gained from reading liberal columnists. Convicted felon Jere Nash is a case in point. He is so wedded to President Obama and his socialist agenda that he disparages the Tea Party and all Republican candidates with predictable regularity. Vicki Hartley, another liberal blogger who appears regularly on newspaper editorial pages is another case in point. She thinks that all conservatives are stupid and that all Republicans are conservatives. She also thinks that there is no one in the Republican Party who can challenge and beat Barack Obama, the man who has lowered the seas. When you begin to peal the layers off liberals, you usually find that there is little or no substance there. These two are glaring examples.
The Tea Party is a unique organization. There is no leader, and this frustrates the Democrats to no end. They have no one to attack and destroy. It is similar to fighting the wind. No one knows exactly where it came from or where it is going. The only thing that is known is that it is there. To continue to attack this group of people and call them stupid, racists, un-American, and dangerous is to place one’s political career in imminent peril. No one, me included, knows what will happen between now and the first Tuesday in November 2012. Nevertheless, I can say this with absolute certitude; if the economy does not improve dramatically, and if gas prices hover around the $4 level, you can bet your government check that President Obama will be a one-term president.
There are at least ten Republicans who can beat the “Master of the Seas.”
They are: Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Sarah Palin, Tim Pawlenty, Newt Gingrich, Mitch Daniels, Donald Trump, Michelle Bachmann, Rick Santorum, and John Bolton. I left out Ron Paul because of his age. At 75, I just do not think he has the stamina to be President although some of his ideas make sense to me. I do think his son, Senator Rand Paul, has a chance to be President one day.
The Republicans have two outstanding women in the race, Michelle Bachmann and Sarah Palin. Both of these women are true conservatives, both are fighters, both are fearless, both are very smart, and both have the energy to take the fight to the socialists.
Both have much more experience than Obama and have a better understanding of the country. I do not think either of them would have invited the gang rapper “Common” to the White House. Even hard-core supporters of Obama will have trouble figuring this one out.
If one goes over the list of Republican candidates carefully, he will find that each of them is more knowledgeable than Obama, has more experience, and has the know-how to fix this economy and get us back on the right track in short order. This is precisely what the American people want.
The election is just too far away to make any intelligent predictions. So if you read a liberal pundit’s column that just does not pass the common sense test, one that claims that Obama is unbeatable, just laugh and remember that there is a better than even chance that he has lost his mind.
