County dealing with rising water as crest draws near

County supervisors were given several updates about what has now been labeled the Great Flood of 2011.
With the rising waters making headlines throughout the state, county leaders were curious about the preparations for Yazoo County. Although it is predicted Yazoo City will be protected by levees, many areas of county flatlands are already underwater.
Bernice McGinnis, civil defense director, discussed flood preparations with the Yazoo County Board of Supervisors during its open meeting Friday morning.
