Elizabeth Lowery was born in 1927, the year the worst flood on record ravaged the Mississippi Delta, with waters rising all the way into downtown Yazoo City.
She's lived between Vicksburg, Holly Bluff and the Satartia communities in her 84 years, and she's survived the floods of 1937, 1973 and 2008.
For over a decade, Lowery has lived in the middle of the Satartia community. But on Wednesday afternoon, her family was making arrangements to move her and her things if the levee doesn’t hold back the waters from the rising Yazoo River.
