Miss Kiyauna Robinson and Christopher SawyerDorothy King Owens and Calvin "Pony" Owens of Detroit, formerly of Yazoo City, announce the upcoming marriage of their granddaughter, Kiyauna Marie Robinson and Christopher Sawyer, son of the late Lisa Patrick Sawyer and  William Sawyer Sr. of Nashville, Tenn.
Miss Robinson is the daughter of Annette King of Knoxville, Tenn. and Kevin Robinson of Atlanta, and the great-granddaughter of the late LeBertha "Sister Knight"  Owens and the late Fred Owens Sr. of Yazoo County.
The wedding is set for 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Eternal Life Worship Center in Knoxville, Tenn.  Pastor James H. Davis will officiate the ceremony.
Both the bride-elect and prospective bridegroom are May 2010 cum laude graduates of Tennessee State University in Nashville, where they both earned a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and Liberal Arts, respectively.  Miss Robinson, a former member of the TSU Marching Band Dance Troupe, is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. while Sawyer, a former member of the TSU Student Government Association and Pan-hellenic Council, is a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.  
Following a honeymoon in Florida, the couple will reside in Knoxville where both are continuing their education pursuing a Master's degree in their respective fields.
Family and friends of the couple are invited to both the wedding and reception, which will be held at the Broker Banquet Hall on Martin Luther King Avenue in Knoxville.  Gloria Elayne Owens, great-aunt of the bride elect, is reception coordinator.
