A careless driving traffic stop uncovered a vehicle loaded with a variety of drugs last week.
Sheriff Thomas Vaughan said deputy Britt Johnson saw a truck run off the road on U.S. 49 near Myrleville Road. When Johnson stopped the vehicle, he smelled alcohol.
“The driver had a suspended license and no insurance, and it just went downhill from there,” Vaughan said.
The driver, Chad Davidson, 24, of Vicksburg said he only had a couple of beers to drink. He then gave officers consent to search the vehicle, where officers found three passengers and a smorgasbord of drugs.
