World Series bound

Since August, the Yazoo Tornadoes select baseball team have been blowing away the competition.

Now they need the community’s help in going to the USSSA 7 and under World Series in June in Gulf Shores, Ala.

The squad, made up of 10 seven year olds from around the area have won five of the six tournaments they’ve entered.
Their only second place finish came last month in Lafayette, La., losing 8-7 in the title game. Other than that, their record is spotless.

“Those kids are fearless,” head coach Eric Poe said. “They’ve never given up. We’ve come from behind in a bunch of different ball games and won. They don’t give up.”
