NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a special election shall be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2011, for the office of Alderman, Ward 4, for the City of Yazoo City, Mississippi.  Each candidate shall qualify by 5:00 p.m. at least twenty (20) days before the ate of the election, pursuant to Miss. Code Ann. Section 23-15-857.  If a runoff election shall be required it shall be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2011.
Said special election is being called pursuant to a Writ of Election issued by Governor Haley Barbour on April 21, 2011, in accordance with an Order of the Circuit Court of Yazoo County, Mississippi ordering a special election for the office of Alderman, Ward 4, on January 12th, 2011.
