Speed speaks to local garden club about raising exotic birds

Special to The Herald

The monthly meeting of the Lintonia Garden Club was held March 23 at the Mississippi Chemical Plant Annex of the Ricks Memorial Library with special speaker, Nancy Speed.
Speed lives in Yazoo County. She has been raising exotic birds since 1992. She was able to share slides of many types and colors of birds. There are approximately 250 birds that she is responsible for, maintaining clean cages, purchasing and selling, etc.
Speed talked about breeding exotic birds and using them as pets. A discussion followed the informative presentation. Ruby Gilliam and Elouise Upchurch served as hostesses.
