ETHEL COKER

Ethel J. Coker, 60, of Pearl, died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at home.
Funeral services were Friday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Midway Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. Coker was born March 2, 1951 to Hess and Grace Toombs Street. She was a retired town clerk and postal service employee and a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Coker Sr.
Survivors include two sons, James A. “Bert” Coker Jr. of Starkville and Marin “Bubba” Coker of Pearl; and two sisters, Nancy Huntsberry of Pearl and Vivian Steed of Brandon.
Serving as pallbearers were David Huntsberry, Spence Street, Jamie Street, Mikey Street, Bryan Street and Hunter Street.

OCHEL DAVIDSON

Captain Ochel Kinglin Davidson, 41, died Friday, April 22, 2011 at home.
Funeral services were Monday at Meadow Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed at New Brandon Cemetery.
Mr. Davidson was born on March 28, 1970, to Bill and LaVera Davidson. He was a lifelong resident of Brandon and a member of Meadow Grove Baptist Church. He was a firefighter with the City of Brandon for more than 19 years.
Survivors include his wife, Tammy Hill Davidson; daughter, Rachel; parents, Bill and LaVera Davidson, all of Brandon; brothers, Scott Davidson of Winnfield, La. and Tom (Joline) Davidson of Pembroke Pines, Fla.; several nieces, nephews; and a host of friends and family.
The Honor Guard served as pallbearers and the Brandon Fire Department served as honorary pallbearers.

CATHERINE DAVIS

Catherine Turner Davis, 79,  died Friday, April 22, 2011 at Trinity Nursing Home in Clinton.
Funeral services were Tuesday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Yazoo County.
Mrs. Davis was a Department manager of Black and White Store and a member of Temple Baptist Church in Laurel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dixie and Annie Elizabeth Turner of Yazoo City; a sister, Edna Earl Moseley; her husband, Hubert Lee "Whiskey" Davis; and a daughter, Loretta Potter.
Survivors include her daughters, Cathy Mozingo of Clinton and Eleanor Davis of Taylorsville; sisters,  Dean Dozier of Taylorsville, Avie Jewel of Byram, Joy Robbins of Walnut and Lora Brock of Brandon; brothers, John Turner of Mize, Doyle Turner of Vicksburg  and Alvin Turner of Brandon; grandchildren, Dabo Mozingo of Clinton, Keisha Johnson of Crystal Springs,  Timothy Mozingo of Clinton,  Ronda Potter of Braxton and Ronald Potter Jr. of Taylorsville; two great grandchildren, Devin McCulough and Cody Bourgeois of Taylorsville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were D.J. Turner, Chris Turner, John Turner, Timothy Turner, David Dozier, Homer Dozier, Don James and Buddy Moseley.
Honorary pallbearers were George Davis, Hatton Bradshaw, Charles Foster, Reggie Shoemaker, Tommy Sumerall, Charlie Carlisle, Ed Williams, Charles Foster, Ardis Russell and Gary Files.

GERALDINE TOLAR

Geraldine Westbrook Tolar, 87, died Friday, April 22, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Funeral services were Tuesday at Parkview Church of God. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.   
Mrs. Tolar was born January 11, 1924 in Norphlett, Ark. and moved to Yazoo City at an early age.  She married Dan W. Tolar in 1942, and they were married for 53 years.  He died in 1995.  
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Carrie Westbrook; two brothers, Harvey Westbrook Jr. and Jimmy Westbrook; and a sister Patricia Westbrook.
Mrs. Tolar was a faithful member of Parkview Church of God for over 50 years. She moved to Greenville in 2006 and to Madison in 2010 to live near her children.  Mamaw will be remembered as a loving, devoted Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family dearly.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Tarver (Jeff) of Madison; sons, Dan Tolar (Lisa) of Brandon and Milton (Bo) Tolar of Clinton; a sister, Joyce Dewees of Baton Rouge; six grandchildren, Jeff Tarver, Jr. of Madison, Marci Russum (Ryan) of Kingsport Tenn., Julie Green of Richmond Va., Tracy Donahou (Andy) of Louisville Ky. and Chad and Casey Tolar of McAllen, Texas; five great-grandchildren, Emma and Libby Russum, Landon, Anna Catherine and Holden Donahou.
