Ryan Smith was clutch again. Unfortunately, his three hit ball game, including two home runs and five RBI wasn’t enough to get Benton Academy through to the second round of the MAIS Class A playoffs after falling to Winona Christian 7-6 last Friday.
The Raiders (14-6) had a 6-3 lead heading into the home half of the seventh inning, before Winona hit a three- run home run to tie the game at 6-6 and eventually score the game winner on a bloop single to center field; all with two outs on the scoreboard.
