Lady Panthers conclude best season ever on the softball diamond

Yazoo County’s softball program has come a long way, but will have to wait another season for their first trip to the playoffs after closing out the year with a pair of losses; 7-2 to Kosciusko and 7-6 to Madison-St. Joe last week.

The girls posted their best season with a 12-11 record and were just one district win away from advancing to the playoffs.
Next year, they should have a better chance now that district will be reshuffled.

“I would like to thank the seniors for their hard work the last four years and I wish them the best of luck.  I also would like to thank the fans and parents for their support next year,” head coach Grant Andrews said. “I feel like if we work hard this summer, we will be tough to beat next year.”
