Miss McConnell to wed Phillips on May 21
Miss Candin McConnellMr. and Mrs. James Clayton McConnell announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Candin Caroline McConnell, to Justin Tedford Phillips, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Allen Phillips of Oxford.
Miss McConnell is the granddaughter is Mr. and Mrs. James W. McConnell of Yazoo City and Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Watts of Pensacola, Fla.
She is a 2004 graduate of Manchester Academy. She received a Bachelors of Psychology from Delta State University in 2008 and a Masters of Counselor Education from the University of Mississippi in 2011.
She is a member of the Delta State Omicron Kappa Delta Honor Society, the Psi Honor Society, the Delta Celles Dance Team, a Phi Mu Sorority Orientation Leader and the Chi Iota Honor Society at the University of Mississippi.
Phillips is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ofha and Charlene Tedford of Cleveland and the late Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Phillips.
He is a 2001 graduate of Lee Academy. He received a Bachelors in Accountancy from the University of Mississippi in 2005 and a Masters of Taxation from the University of Mississippi in 2006.
He is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, the Reformed University Fellowship and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors from UM.
He is an accountant at the University of Mississippi.
The couple will be married on May 21, 2011 at 6 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church. Rev. Samuel Smith, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, will officiate the double ring ceremony.
A reception will follow at the Yazoo Country Club.
