Hood takes windy tournament

By WILL EDGAR
For The Herald

The Yazoo BASSMasters held a tournament recently at Eagle Lake in Warren County. Conditions were tough, with winds kicking up to 25 mph.

The high winds produced 3-foot waves on the large body of water and made boat control very tough, and sometimes very dangerous for those running from spot to spot.

1. Dewey Hood: 5 bass. Total weight: 9lbs. 5oz. Big Bass: 2lbs. 4oz.
2. Carolyn Brower: 4 bass. Total weight: 8lbs. 10oz. Big Bass: 3lbs. 1oz., which was the Tournament Big Bass.
3. Mike Brower and Matt Smith: Each had 4 bass. Total weight: 8-4. Mike's Big Bass: 2lbs, 11oz. Matt's Big Bass: 2lbs. 12oz.
5. Richard Morgan: 3 bass. Total weight: 6lbs. Big Bass: 2lbs. 10oz.

The main productive lures were soft plastics and crankbaits.

The Yazoo BASSMasters will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 7p.m. at Stub's Restaurant.

The specifics for our April tournament will be set, as well as the dates and locations for the next three tournaments. For club rules and other membership information, contact club president Dewey Hood at 673-1010 or 571-7513.
