Winona Christian scraped up a few bloopers in the top of the eighth inning led to four runs and eventually the victory as the visiting Stars topped Benton Academy Monday night, 7-3 in the first round of the MAIS Class A playoffs.

“We just didn’t get the hits to follow through with the win,” Raiders head coach Brent Woods said. “It’s just youthful inexperience.”

Benton stranded 11 runners on base for the game.
