Indians clinch playoff spot

By DAN HAWTHORNE
Sports Editor

The Yazoo City Indians solidified a playoff spot Tuesday despite falling to Canton on the road, 7-5.
Although Neshoba Central lost to Ridgeland, the Indians will clinch the number three seed regardless of the outcome of next Tuesday’s battle with Neshoba.
Canton, who sat in fourth place in the district, scored four runs in the bottom of the second to take a 5-4 lead. Yazoo City tied the game in the third only to give up two more runs on defense. Neither team had a run in the last four innings.
