Benton Academy has already sealed a playoff spot, and Tuesday night’s 16-2 win over Clinton Christian gave them a little more confidence heading into their first round matchup with Winona Christian on Monday.
Two homeruns in the first inning, including a leadoff by Ryan Smith, then later a three run blast by Bo Dickerson highlighted the nine run first inning. The Raiders would go on to score four more runs for a 13-0 lead before Clinton scored a pair in the bottom of the third with timely walks and a sacrifice fly. They didn’t have a single hit in the game.
