EVELYN LORETTA POTTER

Evelyn Loretta Potter, 60, of Taylorsville, died at her residence April 9, 2011.
Graveside services were 2 p.m. April 14 at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Hutto officiating.
Stricklin-King Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Born in Yazoo County, she was a homemaker and a member of Hebron Baptist Church. She is the daughter of Hubert Lee “Whiskey” Davis and Catherine Turner.
Survivors are a son, Ron Potter Jr., of Taylorsville; a daughter, Rhonda Potter of Braxton; two sisters, Eleanor Davis of Taylorsville and Cathy Mozingo of Clinton; her mother, Catherine Davis of Clinton; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services for Deidra “Dee” Danielle Sani Young Terry, 29, were April 2, 2011, at noon from Greater Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Raymond with Pastor Illiad Kelly officiating.
Burial was in Carter Cemetery in Raymond with Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home of Jackson in charge of funeral arrangements.
Ms. Young died March 28.
Born in Jackson, she graduated valedictorian from Raymond High School in 1999 and was a member of Greater Mount Zion M.B. Church.
She had been employed with the Yazoo City Municipal School District for the past three years, where she taught algebra and tutored math.
She is preceded in death by a son, Daniel McKinley “Danny Mac” Williams, and a sister, Leslie Lewis.
Survivors are a son, Dayton Jhames “DJ” Williams; her mother, Yocena Terry; her father, James Battle Jr..; sisters DeniceTerry and Genice Jackson; brothers, Chris Terry of Edwards, Bruce Terry of Cincinnati and Curtis Young of Edwards; other siblings, Kala Battle, of Edwards, Ramunda Battle, Racquel Lowry of Atlanta, Erica Johnson of Virginia, Barry Bolden of Jackson; her grandmothers, Mary Young of Edwards, Mary Battle of Ocean Springs; and nine uncles and eight aunts.
Active pallbearers were Danyon Hughes, Milton Hutton, Carlos Williams, Marlon Young, Fred Farmer and Mario Young.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Chris Terry, Bruce Terry, Barry Bolden, Willie Young Jr., Robert Young and James Young.
