Rust students slated to intern
Three students from Rust College will spend their summer participating in internships via the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program. Cleotha Taylor, Shakaree Hale, and Dionyal Spencer were all chosen after interviews were conducted with each of the candidates.
Taylor, a junior biology major from Yazoo City, Mississippi; Hale, a junior biology major from Crenshaw, Mississippi, and Spencer, a junior Mass Communications major from Conyers, Georgia will complete internships during the summer of 2011. Their accomplishments will be featured upon their return to Rust College in the fall.
The Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program is a federal TRIO program funded at 194 institutions across the United States and Puerto Rico by the U.S.
Department of Education. It is designed to prepare undergraduate students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. Taylor, Spencer, and Hale were also inducted into the Rust College Chapter of Alpha Kappa Mu. Alpha Kappa Mu Honor Society is a general scholarship honor society open to junior and senior men and women in all academic areas who meet the requirements.
