Listen to God and obey His commands

My wife and I love to camp. It is a good life when you can sit in the middle of God’s wooded creation and praise Him for the magnificent beauty of this earth.
Getting away from the hustle and bustle of the fast paced worldly society, camping offers the serenity of quietness and peace. No phones, no television, just radio for emergency uses, one can actually live in the tranquillity of God’s nature, that only He can provide.
It’s fun to watch the deer, ducks and the squirrels. As I sat admiring how great we have life in America, I watched two young squirrels chasing each other. It is amazing to watch them climb one tree to the highest point and then jump from what seemed to be the smallest limb to another small limb on an adjacent tree. They do this without hesitation and with the security that only nature can provide.
This reminds me of so many people in todays world that jump from one religion to another. The only problem with people doing this is that these people are looking for a better way, or a better life, not being satisfied with who they are or what they have.
I hear so many remarks from these people saying that the church they left just didn’t offer them the satisfaction of worship the way they want it. They are looking for something more. They are looking for fulfillment and contentment within their life.
People, you need to realize that all you have to do for fulfillment and contentment is to ask Jesus into your heart and lean on Him for understanding.
Just as the squirrels trust their natural instinct of jumping from one tree to another, they have no fear. We can move from one church to another but if we don’t have the fulfillment and contentment of Jesus Christ, all we are doing is moving and taking our problems and displeasure with us.
All of us need to realize that God is in control and if we will listen to Him and obey His commands, nothing else matters.
Go sit in the stillness of the great outdoors, watch the animals and listen to what God is saying.
Prayer: Lord, I give you all my praise for a beautiful earth. Thank you for the opportunity and blessings of seeing your handiwork. Amen.
