Carroll tops Mavs

CARROLLTON - Manchester Academy has their backs against the wall now following Tuesday’s 4-3 loss to Carroll Academy. The Mavericks have lost three straight, and dropped to 3-2 in the district heading into Thursday’s double header with Carroll.

“This series is huge for us,” head coach AJ Downs said. “Right now, they are the most important games for us all year.” The Mavericks would prefer to win both games to have a chance at securing a playoff spot and defend their conference title.

Mavericks scored early in the first inning for a 1-0 advantage before Carroll rallied in the second to even the score at 1-1.
