While most Yazoo County residents were still sleeping soundly in the early Monday morning hours, officers with the sheriff’’s department were searching through fields for a drug smuggling suspect.
At 3:35 a.m. guards at the Yazoo County Regional Correctional Facility noticed a man approaching the fence. As guards moved in, one suspect sped away in a white Pontiac car and the other fled on foot.
