Tuesday, topping Yazoo City 3-2. It was the second straight loss for the 9-6 Indians who dropped to 2-3 in district play.

Yazoo City was clinging to a 2-1 lead in the seventh before the Rockets plated the game tying run with runners on the corners and two outs in the ball game.

In a game described as a pitcher’s duel, the Indians hurler Demarcus Mahone, who struck out eight batters in the loss, gave up the game’s first run in the second inning as Neshoba scored on a double down the right field line.

The Indians knotted the score in the fourth inning with a two out single by Jalin Edwards.

Two innings later, Mahone scored the go ahead run for the Yazoo City after an RBI double by Willie Harris. One run wouldn’t be enough to get the victory.------for the rest of this story see The Yazoo Herald printed edition or subscribe to the Digital Edition-----
