Indians win streak snapped at three, top rival Yazoo County

Just hours after defeating their longtime rival, Yazoo City had their three game winning streak snapped Saturday after falling to Clinton in five innings 12-2. The Indians fell to 2-2 in district play heading into Tuesday’s match up with Neshoba Central.

The Indians swept Canton in district play Friday 7-3, before topping Yazoo County 17-4. If the Indians can at least split with Neshoba this week, they still have a chance for second.

Saturday’s loss was the most runs they’ve allowed since their 12-0 shutout lost to Ridgeland.
After scoring the game’s first run, Yazoo City was pretty much dormant, scattering six hits in the ball game, none with runners in scoring position. Clinton tied the game at 1-1 in the second, before scoring six in the third and four in the fourth for an 11-run advantage that started with a throwing error. A scary moment for the Indians when outfielder Tre Richardson hit the wall when chasing a fly-ball.
