Mike KinnisonBenton native and future 2011 Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame inductee Mike Kinnison recently added another milestone to his storied 15-year coaching career last weekend after becoming the winningest coach in Delta State baseball history.

In Saturday’s 7-6 victory over Southern Arkansas, the former Benton Academy Raider won his 640th game in the dugout for DSU, surpassing Hall of Fame coach Dave “Boo” Ferriss who led the Statesmen to 639 wins in 26 seasons.
