Lady Panthers split games

Yazoo County’s two run comeback in the bottom of the seventh Monday night wasn’t enough to get the victory as the Lady Panthers (6-6) fell to Florence 4-2 in front of their home fans on a chilly night.
Trailing 4-0 after six complete innings, Jessica Adams reached base with a leadoff walk before Catrina Hall’s right field single scored Adams and cut the lead. Two batters later, pinch runner Capri Coleman sliced the lead in half on a fielder’s choice but the Lady Panthers drive would end there.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning when Florence scored on a pair of singles before adding two more in the fifth, capped by a two-run home run deep to center field for a 4-0 lead.
