Winona tops County in comeback

With the bases clear and two outs in the top of the seventh inning, Yazoo County was one out away from sealing a 3-2 victory. Instead, Winona would go on to slap five straight hits and score three runs to seal a 5-3 comeback;

“A loss is a loss, but I am proud of the way the girls played,” head coach Grant Andrews said. “They played hard and didn’t give up when they got behind.”

Down 1-0 after the first inning, the Lady Panthers (4-5) knotted things up in the fourth when Raven Carter scored on a single by Qurteshia Bullock. Bullock would score the go ahead run a few pitches later on a single by Capri Coleman.
