Panthers fall on the road

CANTON  - Austin Tyson and Tyler George gave up a combined four hits last Thursday, but Canton found an early groove and never looked back on their way to a 7-1 victory over Yazoo County.

The Tigers took full advantage of their home field, jumping out to a 4-0 lead in their first trip to plate.

The Panthers, who did not record a hit for the second time this season, were scoreless until the top of the third after Trebor Gainwell crossed the plate when Brent Pigg was thrown out on a fielder’s choice. Gainwell worked the count in his favor and grabbed a walk, one of nine for the Panthers on the day.
