Yazoo County earned their first win on the softball diamond Monday after downing St. Joseph (Madison) 8-6 in front of a good crowd at home.
The Lady Panthers  improved to 1-3 on the young season.
“We played a complete game today,” head coach Grant Andrews said.  “We pitched well, hit well and played solid defense.”
The Lady Panthers cruised to an 8-0 run lead heading into the sixth inning, before allowing St. Joe back in the game and giving up six runs late.
