MATTHEW CADER

Robert Matthew Cader, 38, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011.
Funeral services were Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Lincoln Dall officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Cader was born April 26, 1972 in Jackson to Robert and Linda Bates Cader. He was a truck driver and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his parents, Robert “Bobby” Cader and Linda Cader of Yazoo City; sister, Marcie Cader of Ridgeland; three brothers, Mark Cader (Christy), Michael Cader (Julie) and Marshal Cader (Jennifer), all of Yazoo City; and his companion, Amanda Hughes of Yazoo City.
Serving as pallbearers were Jim Anderson, Mark Saxton, Robbie Niven, Michael Crechale, Ronnie Collins and Chris Alias.
Honorary pallbearers were Martin McGraw and Bryce Upshaw.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

BUDDY KINNARD

Otis C. “Buddy” Kinnard Jr., 65, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson.
Funeral services were Thursday at Melrose Baptist Church with Rev. Hal Hood officiating. Burial followed at Melrose Cemetery under the direction of Stricklin-King Funeral Home.
Mr. Kinnard was born June 28, 1945 in Yazoo County to O.C. Kinnard Sr. and Calista Griffis Kinnard. He was a retired seed salesman and a member of Melrose Baptist Church.
Survivors include his son, Marty Kinnard (Candyce) of Benton; brother, Rick Kinnard (Lou Ann) of Benton; sister, Cay Jones (Fred) and a grandson, Cade Kinnard.
Serving as pallbearers were Bruce Courts, David Droge, William Tyer, Rusty Nash, Timmy Davis, Zach Howell, David Berry and Raymond Foster.

AMOS HOOD Jr.

Rev. Dr. Amos Alton Hood Jr., 57, of Olive Branch died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
A memorial service was held Jan. 29 at First Presbyterian Church in Hernando.  
Dr. Hood was born Jan. 23, 1953 to Amos Alton Hood Sr. and Dorothy Reynolds Hood.  He was a graduate of Holly Bluff Schools, where he graduated salutatorian. He began his spiritual journey as a small child at Holly Bluff Baptist Church in Holly Bluff.  There he answered God's call as an ordained ministry in which he faithfully followed the remainder of his life. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Divinity from Mississippi College with distinctive honors. Rev. Hood earned a Masters of Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological and a Doctorate of Theology from Columbia Theological Seminary.  
In addition to ministry Dr. Hood also owned and successfully operated his own Fun Services franchise.  He taught several years in the Pascagoula School District, Moss Point City School System and Louisville, Kentucky School System.
Survivors include his fiancé Alice Hubbert of Hernando; a son Charles Aaron Amos Hood of Olive Branch; grandson, Jaiden Redding of Gautier; mother, Dorothy Reynolds Hood; sisters, Vicki Everett and Faye Allen; and a host of other relatives and friends.

SALLIE MOODY

Sallie Speairs Moody, 85, died Monday, Feb. 21, 2010 at King’s Daughters Hospital.
Funeral services were Friday at the Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Gilbert officiating. Burial followed at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Louisville.
Mrs. Moody was born Dec. 14, 1925 in Yazoo County to Harris A Speairs Sr. and Rebecca Pettigrew Speairs. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forrest A. Moody; a brother, Harris Speairs Jr.; and a sister, Rebecca Speairs.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Moody of Yazoo City and Sally Goodwill (Todd) of Winter Haven, Fla.; two sisters, Nora Gainey of Satartia and Josephine S. Lee of Bentonia; two grandchildren, Todd Stamey of Memphis, Tenn. and Brian Stamey of Clearwater, Fla.; two great-grandchildren; three nieces, one nephew and great-nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers were Wayne Morrison, Hank Remington, Rob Coker, Jamie Peaster, Bill Simmons and Richie Peaster.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Will Thompson, Jim Whitfield, Sonny Peaster, Bob Cato and Tommy Peaster.

BERNICE MOORE

Bernice “B.B.” Moore, 57, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011.
Funeral services were Saturday at Winnfield Funeral Home in Baton Rouge, La. with Rev. David Griffin officiating.
Ms. Moore was born July 5, 1953 to the late Mable Lee Smith and Robert Eillis. She was a custodian and a member of Bible World Christian Center.
Survivors include a son, Mark Edward Smith Sr. (Trina) of Clinton, La.; nine sisters, Mattie Ferguson, Rosie Dunn and Earlene Martin of Baton Rouge, La., Tonia Yisrael (Yahpatha) of Cincinnati; Gwendolyn Cathey (Samuel), Annie Spencer (Robert), Trina Ellis, Edith Ellis and Dorthey Wilson of Yazoo City; six brothers, Nathaniel Smith and Purnell Smith (Ruby) of Baton Rouge, La., Walter Smith of Houston, Texas, Johnny Smith Sr. (Will Ella), Ulrick Ellis and Donal Ellis of Yazoo City; two grandchildren; one great-grandaughter and a host of other relatives and friends.
