JACKSON – With two members abstaining, the Mississippi Commission on School Accreditation voted Thursday to downgrade the Yazoo City Municipal School District's accreditation from accredited to probation. The action was based on the findings of an unannounced, three-day on-site visit last October.
Following the vote, Dr. Arthur Cartlidge, the school district's superintendent, commented briefly.
