PSC has plan to collect from late accounts

With a plan to deal with delinquent residential customers firmly in place, Yazoo City Public Service Commission is turning its attention now to commercial customers who have fallen into arrears.
Director of Customer Services Mike Wilson told the utility company's commissioners Tuesday in their regular monthly meeting that the new delinquent debt collection procedure appears to be working.

Activities set for National Library Week

Ricks Memorial Library continues to prepare for National Library Week on April 14-20.
The annual celebration will highlight some of the many exciting resources the local library has for the Yazoo community.
The week will begin with an exhibit of Giclee pieces from local artist Dennis Heckler, including fine art prints.

Community rallies to support injured young woman

A tragedy that took the life of one Yazoo County man and left his daughter with serious injuries is coming around full circle as a story of hope and courage.
David Harris, 52, of Benton, died from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident Saturday morning. His daughter, Josie Harris, was a passenger on the motorcycle and was airlifted to the University Medical Center in Jackson with extensive injuries.
