Pink Party

Local artist Neetsie Gary received some help from third graders at Manchester Academy with an art project at the local post office. The class constructed several breast cancer awareness posters that were displayed during the month. Gary thanked the class for their help by throwing them a Pink Party, complete with pink lemonade, cupcakes and candy. CVB honors Yazoo merchants and volunteers

A welcoming smile, a friendly face or an attentive nature can make or break a town.
Yazoo’s tourism field is promoted and held together by those simple traits.
And the Yazoo County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau paid homage to those making a difference with the annual CVB Honors last week.
“Each of us play an extremely important role in making Yazoo tourism a success,” said Tonja Ray-Smith, CVB director. “We all play a part of what makes Yazoo tourism a thriving economic convenience.”

City gives $30k to parks and rec

The Parks and Recreation Commission are slowly getting out of the red with its budget, but there are still some bumps in the road.
The commission runs its department with a very limited budget due to tough economic times and high legal fees.
But there has been some recent action that could slowly lift the parks and recreation department out of its hole.
