By JAMIE PATTERSON
Managing Editor

The final suspect of an Ethel Street robbery was arrested after numerous concerned citizens notified investigators of his whereabouts.
Corbin Mills was charged with armed robbery.
Three other suspects were charged last week in connection with the robbery, as Mills remained on the run.
Chief Eric Snow said he is extremely grateful to the community for assisting his department with this case.
“We wouldn’t have been able to find him without the help of citizens calling in with tips,” Snow said. “I want to thank them for that.”

If trips to the moon, costume contests and visiting furry friends bring back memories of kindergarten, there’s a good chance that you were a student of Theresa Brown.
The beloved teacher has transformed her kindergarten class at Manchester Academy into a world of imagination and dreams during her 22 years of teaching.
“I want the kids to love school as much as I love teaching,” she said. “Every child fills my heart with joy. They are a part of me.”
That explaines why Brown is finding it so hard to say goodbye. This will be her last year at Manchester Academy. She will be heading to Madison Ridgeland Academy to carry on her love for children and teaching.
“I prayed about this, and God has opened this door for me,” she said. “But I keep telling my kids here that I don’t want them to be sad. Goodbyes are not the end. It simply means I will miss you until we meet again.”

A Benton woman was killed in a one car accident Wednesday morning on Old Benton Road.
Leslie Parshan Monday, 59, of 394 Mollett Road, died after her car left the road and landed upside down in an overgrown area.
Investigators reported Monday was driving west when her car crossed the oncoming lane, drove up onto an embankment and rolled serveral times. The vehicle severed a power pole cable before landing about 75 feet from where it left the road.
Yazoo County Coroner Ricky Shivers said Monday was wearing her seatbelt. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Shivers said a medical condition may have contributed to the crash.
