Anyone wondering how they can do something good for their community need look no further than the example set by third grader Jacob Scott.
The Manchester Academy student recently organized a canned food drive for the Manna House, a ministry that feeds the hungry in Yazoo City.
“It just came to me,” he said. “I was sitting in my room and thinking that I wanted to do something to help others.”
Marilyn Myers, Scott’s teacher, said it didn’t surprise her to see him thinking of others.
